As we navigate the hot lanes of midlife we often find it takes more time and effort to keep looking good.

We eat organic food, we do yoga, we buy expensive face creams, we exercise and get facials

and we drink wine…

Menopause plays havoc with our emotions and our sleep so our doctor may prescribe meds for our anxiety, insomnia and depression which we dutifully swallow.

and we drink wine…

Some of us spend years in therapy discovering ways to deal with our social anxiety and low moods

and we drink wine…

Yet what’s the one thing we can do to improve our looks and our mental health?

What’s the one thing we can do to make midlife a springboard for a healthy and happy (long) future?

The simple (if a little scary) answer is that we need to stop or at least moderate our wine habit.

Even a couple of glasses of wine a night will add up to more than the so called “safe” limits of alcohol which works out at just one a half bottles of wine a week.

Menopause is tough enough without pouring ethanol on our symptoms.

Drinking alcohol will ensure we wake up in the night and lose out on vital cycles of restorative REM sleep.  Not to mention the “brainfog” the next morning.

Exercising and dieting to stay slim is a losing battle if we are drinking wine.  Alcohol is a poison and the body must focus on removing it from your system.

That’s why your body will not even begin to burn calories until it has metabolised those glasses of wine.

Coffee and alcohol are obvious no no’s if you are plagued with night sweats and hot flushes.

So many of us self medicate with wine.  Using it to numb our feelings of depression and anxiety.  Well here’s the thing.  Alcohol is a depressant so although you may experience a brief chemical high there will be a price to pay, whether its a 3am wake up call or a hangover the next morning.

As for anxiety…

Many of us know in our hearts that we are drinking too much but we don’t have the foggiest idea HOW to change our relationship with alcohol.

How would we socialise?
How would we relax?
How would we reward ourselves at the end of the day?

Well the good news is we answer all these questions in our regular workshops.

We give you the tools, strategies and tips to enable you to permanently change your relationship with alcohol.

So why not make midlife your springboard to the start of a whole new life!
